Game 3
Well, Edmonton is not going down without a fight. Jussi Markkanen stepped his game up and Ryan Smyth, to no one's surprise, got the game-winner with 2:15 left in the third period.
According to press reports, the fans were shaking the foundation of Rexall Place 10 minutes before the players hit the ice. Continuing the recent tradition, the crowd drowned out national anthem singer Paul Lorieau as he sang the American and Canadian national anthems.
Really glad to see the fun Edmonton can provide on U.S. over-the-air television coast-to-coast. Yes, the U.S. ratings have not been good. But a lot of people still don't know where OLN is. And with the strike, it will take more time in the U.S. for hockey to get noticed.
