Let's set up Round 2

Calgary left its offense behind somewhere. The Flames were extinguished from the start. So we have two Canadian teams remaining on the ice. Ottawa, the #1 seed, will battle a high-scoring Buffalo team. Edmonton goes after #5 seed San Jose.

In the East, the top 4 seeds remain; in the West, the bottom 4 seeds are left. Go figure! The remaining teams don't include any of the Original Six (only 3 of those made the playoffs) and neither of the teams from the last Stanley Cup (Tampa Bay and Calgary).

The quirks in the TV schedule are as follows:
  • Games 2 and 3 for Ottawa and Buffalo are not scheduled to be on OLN, because they are opposite New Jersey at Carolina. So those in the States won't see coverage of those two games. This is the frustration of only one OLN channel, as opposed to the ESPN family of stations. Still, all 7 games of New Jersey and Carolina will be on TV.
  • None of the Canadian teams will be on NBC in this round.
  • Game 6 of Edmonton and San Jose is listed as CBC only right now. The status and times are unknown, so that may change.
  • Hopefully, OLN will continue to run the CBC feeds.
