Ottawa advances

To no one's surprise, Ottawa has advanced to the next round of the playoffs with a 3-2 win over Tamp Bay Saturday night. Ottawa won the series 4-1. The Senators, the #1 seed, face the lowest seed remaining among Montreal (7th), Philadelphia (5th) and Buffalo (4th) once the first round is completed. Unfortunately, that means if Montreal gets past Carolina, the two remaining Canadian teams play each other.

In the West, if Colorado beats Dallas and Calgary and Edmonton win their series, the battle of Alberta goes to the next round. Calgary and Edmonton have not played each other in the playoffs since 1991.

If all these scenarios happen, a Canadian team will reach each conference final.
