"Next Great Prime Minister" winner named
Deirdra McCracken, 24, a political science student from Sudbury, Ontario, won the 2006 Next Great Prime Minister competition on CTV. McCracken favors a "mixed delivery" health-care system and special status for Quebec.
McCracken beat out four others to win. Four former prime ministers - Brian Mulroney, Joe Clark, Kim Campbell and John Turner - appeared onstage together and served as a judging panel.
I wrote about the competition earlier and thought it sounded like fun. I would even think a U.S. version would be really nice. The U.S. steals programs to re-do from other countries, so why not Canada?
