Moon to Hall
Warren Moon's selection to the Pro Football Hall of Fame was a final triumph for a quarterback that had to go to the CFL to prove himself.
Despite a rather strong college career at the University of Washington, Moon wasn't drafted by any NFL team. Unfortunately, black quarterbacks back in 1978 weren't given the respect they deserved.
So Moon had to go to the CFL where all he did was win 5 Grey Cups in 6 seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos. In six seasons with Edmonton, Moon threw for over 21,000 yards and 144 touchdowns.
Moon became the first player to be inducted into the Canadian Football League Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was elected into the CFL Hall of Fame in 2001.
In his 17 NFL seasons, Moon threw for 49,325 yards and 291 touchdowns. He played for Houston (Oilers), Minnesota, Seattle and Kansas City.
