CFL East wrapup
Montreal downed Toronto 33-17 at Rogers Centre in Toronto. For the second year in a row, the visiting team in this matchup came out on top.
Eric LaPointe helped lead the charge in Montreal's second-half comeback. LaPointe finished with 133 yards and 3 TDs on the day, a remarkable feat given that he replaced starting back Robert Edwards in the second quarter.
After the first quarter, Toronto's offense went pretty much silent. Damon Allen, winner of last year's Grey Cup MVP, threw for one major and ran for another in the first quarter.
Montreal was aided by 6 Toronto turnovers. Montreal got its revenge for last year, losing at home to the Argonauts, the eventual Grey Cup winners.
